Going from partial blindness at birth to complete blindness, Bhavesh Bhatia experienced the slow and painful process of watching the light go out of his life. But blindness has not prevented him from setting up a manufacturing business which allows him to light up lives of many handicapped people employed by him.

After complete blindness took over him due to retina muscular deterioration, he joined National Association For the Blind (NAB) and took the training in candle making. After getting excellence in the technique. He set up a small candle-making center "Sunrise Candles" along with a dedicated websitewww.sunrisecandles.in and that is how Sunrise Candles managed to operate on a commercial scale producing over 6,000 candles in a month.

Bhavesh decided to start a coaching center called the ‘Wax Museum' on a 4,000sq-ft space at Moleshwar village. Here, he trains physically-challenged persons in the art of candle-making, free of cost. Sunrise also has 65 blind and handicapped employees.

Interestingly, Bhatia’s life is not about candle-making alone. What is unique about him is his keen interest and excellence in sports. At the National Para-Olympics he won the gold medal for shot-put and the silver medal for discus throw. He is also a keen swimmer and has innumerable sporting achievements at the district and state level as well.

In the future he aspires to build a Wax Museum in India, similar to the one in London and also wants to represent India and win Gold medals for the country at the Paralympics event to be held in Brazil in 2016.
