Oka Laila Kosam Review

Story:

Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) is a free soul and he doesn’t care about the traditional way of living. Nandana (Pooja Hegde) is a daddy’s girl and is very traditional in upbringing and highly conservative in behavior. Karthik falls in love with Nandana at first sight. He starts following her and proposing her. But she keeps getting frustrated with his advances. Then there is a twist in the tale. Rest of the story is all about how Nandana realises the true intensity and nobility of Karthik’s love.

Performances: Naga Chaitanya has done good job in the role of Karthik, his performance is more believable in second half. Pooja Hegde was quite impressive as female lead. Ali 's comedy was good but director could have used him more in second half. Shiyaji Shinde was okay, Suman didn't had much scope, Rohini and others were Just Present.

Technical Departments:

Story-Screenplay-Direction: Story line is good & Interesting. Screenplay for the first half is good though initially it takes time to settle down, scenes between Lead Pair worked out well and ali's comedy was also hilarious. Director was very much successful in establishing the thread of heroine misunderstanding hero. And the Interval episode paid off very well and raises expectations towards the second half. Director concentrated more on emotion by putting maximum scenes between lead pair. But that was not enough,those scenes were fine but not great, they could have been more strong. Pre Climax was good, but climax could had more impact if it was only limited to lead pair confrontation, unnecessary inclusion of family members diluted the effect. Overall Vijay Kumar Konda has done a nice job but he was not successful in getting emotions right/high in necessary scenes.

Other Departments: Dialogues were nice, Camera work was good, Music by Anup Rubens is Adequate. Songs were average and Background Score Was Good. Editing is fine . Action Sequences were alright.

My Rating: 5.5/10

Analysis: Oka Laila Kosam - Despite of having Good Plot and Entertaining First half. Movie fails to excel and remains just an okay movie because of lack of much needed emotional scenes at crucial stages.
