The AP Government has complained to Krishna river board against the production of electricity by the Telangana Government. Following this complaint, Krishna river board secretary has written a letter to Telangana irrigation secretary asking not to misuse Srisailam water quoting that it would lead to scarcity of water for irrigation and drinking purposes in the future. This decision has come amid the friction between the two states.

శ్రీశైలం జలాలపై ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రభుత్వం చేసిన ఫిర్యాదుపై కృష్ణా రివర్ బోర్డు స్పందించింది. ఈ మేరకు తెలంగాణ నీటిపారుదల ముఖ్య కార్యదర్శికి కృష్ణా బోర్డు కార్యదర్శి ఆర్కే గుప్తా లేఖ రాశారు. జీవో-69, 107 ప్రకారం నీటి యాజమాన్య పద్ధతులు పాటించాలని లేఖలో పేర్కొన్నారు. రెండు రాష్ట్రాల నిర్ణయం మేరకే నీటి విడుదల చేస్తున్నట్లు తెలిపారు. 'అక్టోబర్ 9 నిర్ణయం ప్రకారం శ్రీశైలం నుంచి నీటి విడుదల' అన్న బోర్డు కార్యదర్శి, తాగునీరు, తరువాత సాగు అవసరాలకు ఇబ్బంది లేకుండా చూడాలని చెప్పారు.
