Buy a TV with Good HD and low black levels and check it in complete darkness if there are any hot spots like very faint grey areas on black screen instead of being balck

 

a chromecast or simple Roku/apple Tv/Nexus Tv or even PS and DVD/bluray players all of these are coming with smart apps

 

so u dont need your Tv to have be a smart one

 

just see if it has 2-3 hdmi's 2 usb's , a possible LAN port and a good to have wifi  thats it   so dont buy anything less than 55 inch , u might regret it later

I feel lg is better ,Samsung may b more better picture ,lg is better to live with ,also Vizio is also not bad
