Responsible to:

·         Troubleshoot, install and maintain communications systems

·         Act as the primary technical support for those systems.  

·         Monitors cost effectiveness and recommends upgrading of appropriate systems. 

·         Working on Cisco VoIP systems

o   Call Manager

o   Unity Messaging

o   Meeting Place Conferencing

o   Router Gateways

o   Campus switches.  

 

  • Administer Voice Communication Systems
    • Analyze basics in performance of various communications related service calls.
    • Analyze entire communications system to determine hardware/cable related problems.
    • Perform end user equipment and connectivity installs, relocations and moves to include voice mail and communications hardware.
    • Identify and replace malfunctioning or inoperative equipment.
    • Monitor system performance and resource utilization.  
    • Provide resource outlook to the manager.
  • Administer Video Teleconference Systems
  • Analyze basics in performance of ISDN and Internet video conferences.
  • Analyze video conferencing system to determine hardware/connectivity related problems.
  • Identify and replace malfunctioning or inoperative equipment.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization.  
  • Provide resource outlook to the manager

 

 

Required Experience:

·         Minimum 3-5 years of :

o   Cisco VoIP hands on experience (with Call Manager, Unity implementation and support)

o   Troubleshooting in the VoIP environment.

·         Minimum 2-3 years of PSTN experience.

·         Certification or equivalent work experience with:

o    Cisco CCVP Certification

o    IPCC, (Enterprise preferred, Express acceptable)

·         Strong knowledge of:

o     H323, SCCP, MGCP,SIP, TFTP, DHCP, TCT/IP, HRSP, ISDN Q931, HDLC, EIGRP protocols

o    VLANs and QoS

o    TDM T1, DS3, FXO, FXS, DSUs, PRI

o    Routers, switches and gateways (28xx, 38xx, 7xxx, 37xx, VGxxx)

·         Working knowledge of;

Windows 2000 and 2003 servers and Active Directory.

o    Firewalls and ACLs.
