I'm not sure ...have to findout in detail abt this

Modi never cared abt it , just media hyped the whole situation up as usual , PM ayyaka vaalley ichaaru malli i have frnds in NJ/NY from Gujarat and for their every annual function they tried to call him but that did not workout and he had to do video conference on that day with these guys for the reasons u know well..i know people who did nothing like modi but they find it hard to come back to US even though they had job here.. nenu chepthondhi adhi okkatey coming back to us is not that easy even visitor visa for people of our age is tough to get :(

Another was denied because she was 5 months pregnant. :) US has some of the most stupid laws. like citizenship for those born in US.

I guess if they are concerned abt a person becoming a potential immigrant then the'll deny it ,
