The govt of AP plans to open 9000 liquor shops in place of belt shops.
The decision was taken by the govt as the target of the excise department was not reached. 
Earlier, the govt issued GO on abolition of 1100 belt shops. The increase in the number of shops is expected to increase the revenue of the state.
