chennai also the only city in india that has a thriving classical arts scene. plus plenty of theatre activity. wonderful plays. Only mumbai/Kolkata can match this - minus the classical arts part.

 

actually, its a great place to live too. depending on where you live. AP middle class can't afford chennai and are forced to live in less than glamorous neighbourhoods, hence they don't like it.

 

Chennai is not better or worse than any other city in India. If anything, if you keep an open mind, it's slightly better than almost all cities in India.
