Police arrested Bonda Siddharth, son of Bonda Umamaheshwara Rao, MLA from Vijaywada Central. Police arrested him along with his friend Jai Sivaram and produced them in front of Chilakaluripeta Court.

Police finally overcame immense political pressure not to take action against Bonda Siddharth after he was involved in car racing which resulted in death of an engineering student Y.Vijaya Nagendra (20), when two cars collided.

It was alleged that Bonda Siddharth organised these car races. The accident happened on Sunday evening at Yedlapadu and from then on Siddharth was absconding. His father Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao claimed that his son was innocent and police showed over enthusiasm.
