టెహ్రాన్: ఇరాన్ చట్టాలకు విరుద్ధంగా పురుషుల వాలీబాల్ మ్యాచ్ చూసేందుకు వెళ్లిన ఇరాన్ సంతతి బ్రిటిష్ యువతి ఘవామికి టెహ్రాన్ కోర్టు ఏడాది జైలుశిక్ష విధించింది. పురుషుల మ్యాచ్‌లను మహిళలు వీక్షించడం ఇరాన్‌లో నిషేధం. దీన్ని ధిక్కరిస్తూ మరికొందరు మహిళలతో కలిసి జూన్‌లో టెహ్రాన్‌లోని ఫ్రీడం స్టేడియంలో ఇరాన్-ఇటలీ మ్యాచ్‌ను వీక్షించేందుకు వెళ్లిన ఘవామీని పోలీసులు అరెస్ట్ చేశారు. ఘవామీకి శిక్ష పడటానికి క్రీడలకు ఎలాంటి సంబంధంలేదని ఇరాన్ న్యాయశాఖ అధికారులు పేర్కొన్నారు.
