Nolan is one of the few directors who insist on shooting on film rather than digital disk... Tarantino is another director (he said he is going to quit film making if kodak stops making film reels)

 

So I think Nolan is trying his best to give some advantage to the remaining few theaters that are still showing good old 35 mm film reel :)

As Spielberg himself said, Hollywood is about to implode..with it's complete lack of originality, 

Almost all major studios dont want to invest on any project other than Comic book adaptation.I think in 2 or 3 years these mega budgeted comic films are going to hit the ground.

 

Nolan, Tarantino, Guillermo Del Toro and James Cameroon are pretty much the last men standing..who can make a film that is not based out of a comic book.

yes..no major studio is willing to invest 150-200 million on a original movie project...

 

I am sure whedon can make a pretty good original movie..but I dont think he has any plans in the next 5 years (Avengers2,3..and beyond lol)

I like Whedon too...the way he handle multiple super hero's in one film is impressive....but you cannot compare Avengers with Interstellar....both are completely different in terms of concept....probably you can compare with Dark Knight since both are super hero movies......

but again....Nolan way to taking is different from Whedon....and i;m happy that both make different type of movies.....that way I can enjoy movies like Avengers, Spiderman, Iron man etc etc which are more of fun, jolly ride movies....kids too can understand easily and enjoy........ and also I sometimes feel like watching Nolan type of movies which are always highly complex and complicated...it all depends on my mood and interest.

Regardless, Nolan is known for such movies.....and no maker can satisfy 100% of audience....they target ponly a section of ppl and make such movies....since Hollywood has international market....they get profits if the final out is good.

Intception is a brilliant, complex and complicated movie..........Whedon can never make such movie (ofcourse he doesn;t have too....thats not his area and interest).....same goes with Nolan.
