I watch enough tennis to know that many players do it, especially at Futures level.

 

At ATP level, they suddenly become model citizens, lol.

 

Heck, even Federer did this regularly before he learnt to control his anger post 2002. I guess a bozo like Lleyton Hewitt winning Wimbledon made him change his tactics. 

 

But then, he couldn't stop Nadal from winning it. Multiple times :)

yeah i watched his games long ago manchi player..

 

average player.

 

the only thing I remember about him was his hot girlfriend during his 2006 Aus open final run.

 

and a bunch of 5 set losses.

He's very popular in Australia. Perhaps the most popular tennis player in Australia at one time, given the high percentage of greeks in Melbourne.

 

He had a dream run in 2005/06, and the greeks show up every year to support him in huge numbers at the Australian open.

Tennis, to me, seems like a one man show .. I mean the player has to pay for everything out of their pocket..
I think a professional player has to earn atleast a few millions just to keep thing running..
Hence the pressure to win.. I think
