AR Rahman’s copycat ways exposed! It is absolutely disgusting to see these people getting famous by doing nothing more than a copy-paste jobA R Rahman, Indian Bollywood music director, is good in sound but not good in creating or composing original music, he did lot of plagiarism in his music, copied western music, changed few things on it and sell it in India.What we’ve managed are only some of the unearthing. There are, obviously, a cart-load more. Considering Rahman draws his inspiration from soundtracks that are not easily accessible or heard by an average Indian (other than a hardcore music aficionado), he did a lot of plagiarism.Say Boo to rahman!!! He is a commercial crap!!
Song 1. Hello Mr. ethirkatchi [Film: Iruvar] 
The opening piano part definitely inspired. Source: Dave Grusin's Memphis Stomp, from the OST of The Firm, released in 1993.Genuine copy of the piano intro sequence.

Song 2. Kuluvalile [Film: Muthu]The background rhythm and beats inspired from the song 'rescue me' by Fontella Bass. The song was part of the OST of the film 'Sister Act', released in 1965.The rhythm has been used. And also a copy from like a virgin ( Madonna).
Song 3. Akkadannu naanga [Film: Indian]Again, the background beats are inspired. Source: Paul Young's 'Love of common people', from the album 'No Parlez', released in 1983.Oh sure, the beats are copied.
Song 4. Anbae anbae [Film: Jeans]The opening sequence seems inspired from Peter Gabriel's 'Of these, hope...' from the album 'Passion: Music from the last temptation of Christ'.

Song 5. Shakalaka Baby [Film: Mudhalvan]The rhythm loop with an underground feel is also found in the track 'Flight IC 408' by State of Bengal and the track 'Aint talkin bout dub' by Apollo 440.Possibly a commercially available loop, done with some improvisations by Rahman. The loop appears almost throughout the Apollo 440 track and at places in Flight IC 408.

Song 6. Thillana thillana [Film: Muthu]The opening African female humming is ripped off from Deep Forests 'Night Bird'.Oh sure, ripped. Just that initial humming part. But if Deep Forest can rip off native African sounds....!

Song 7. Poopookkum osai [Film: Minsara Kanavu]The beats seem inspired from Lebo M's 'Rhythm of pride lands: Kube', which was last part of the Disney's Greatest Pop hits collection.The beats are sure inspired.

Song 8. Thenmerku paruvakkaatru [Film: Karuthamma]The beats are similar to a track by Dr Alban, 'Om we rembwe ike'. And the tune is from a jazz music cd.

Song 9. Paarkadhey [Film: Gentleman (1993)]Alleged to be inspired from the Osibisa number 'Kelele'

Song 10. Ekamevadhvitheeyam - Theme music from Baba [Film: Baba]Inspired from the the background music of The Untouchables (1987).'Ekamevadhvitheeyam' means "there is only one paramatma, no second entity". This song opens almost exactly like the prominent score from the cult classic 'The Untouchables' with music by Ennio Morricone.

Song 11.Ottagatha Kattikko [Film: Gentleman (1993)]Highly inspired by Raj Koti's Telugu pop song 'Eddem ante' sung by Malgadi Shuba, in 1991. album 'Chik pak chik bam', with music by Raj Koti.

Song 12. Pudhu Vellai Mazhai (Film: Roja)Yanni’s track, Quiet Man, from his album In The Mirror, has a particular crescendo part, which sounds suspiciously similar.
Song 13. Tu Hi Tu (Film: Kabhi Na Kabhi) had Rahman’s music and the beginning of the song sounds so much like The Scarborough Fair by Simon and Garfunkel!

Song 14. jumbalakka (Film: en swasa katre) It’s a copy of a Spanish song.

Song 15. Luka chhupi (Film: Rang de basanti): The intro Guitar is a straight rip from the intro that comes in a song called “Dogs” by Pink Floyd

Song 16. Background score (Film: Rangeela) and a lot of the songs in there: Are a direct inspiration from music by Deep Forest (their first album, the one with a green color album cover).
Song 17. Telephone (Hindustani, Indian) : is directly inspired from a song called “Happy Nation”, All that she wants (Ace of base)
Song 18. Anbe anbe kollaathe (Film: Jeans) Copied From Passion (Peter gabriel - Last temptation of Christ) 
Song 19. Akkadaanu naanga (Film: Indian) Copied From Love of common people (Paul young) 
Song 20.Mellisaye Film: Mr.Romeo Copied From Theme music (Ennio Morricone - For a few dollars more) 
Song 21. The tune for the title track for the movie “Lakshya” is a direct copy of the guitar riff in ACDC’s “Hard as a rock”. 
Song 22. Thaiyya Thaiyya (Film: Uyirae) seems eerily remeniscent of The Corr’s “Silver Strand”.
Song 23. o humdum suniyo re... he copied the music from one of backstreet boys song...

Song 24. Film: Rubaroo Film: Rang de Basanti has striking resemblance to and feels inspired from Breakfast at Tiffany of Deep Blue Something

Song 25.Tu bin bataye Film: Rang de Basanti Copied from Kaempfert's mid-20th century creation. Wotsay.
Song 26. Tasi taxi song, Film: Sakarakati is resounding like Daddy Yankees Gasolina 
Song 27. Film: Elay- Neram vanduduchu song resounding like The Corrs - MTV Unplugged - Toss The Feather
Song 27. Muquabala (Film: Hum se hai muquabala, kadhalan) Dr. Alban's African tribe {in fact many other songs have lifted the beat of this song
Song 28. Film: Bombay, Theme music - Wyaat Earp
