Telangana government’s prestigious
‘Asara’ pension scheme emerged a
counter-productive in many places
across the Telangana state as the
regular pensioners lost their names in
the new list. They took to streets in
the Medak district and attacked the
MRO offices seeking justice and
demanding to relist their names as
eligible pensioners.
Regular pensioners like widows, old-
aged people and handicapped attacked
the MRO office in Papanna Pet of
Medak district grilling the MRO why
they had lost their names in the new
eligible pensioners list. They staged a
massive protest at Medmetpally
highway shouting anti-KCR slogans. In
certain places, they burnt the effigies
of Chief Minister KCR lambasting him
to be the reason behind their pension-
loss. Reportedly, 3 people also died
with shock when they came to know
they had lost their names in the new
list of eligible pensioners. :(
