Need to go India.. But don't have time to surrender Indian passport and get the visa..
Have read abt 3 months grace period...

In some forum somebody suggested than can travel within 3 months after getting citizenship and show indian passport in india immigration and while coming back show british in UK immigration..

Is it ok to hold 2 passports in India as we don't allow dual citizenship?


If anyone experienced this situation pls advice..

I just got reply from hcilondon.in ...


There is a grace period of three months after acquisition of foreign nationality (to be counted from the date of registration / Naturalization Certificate and not from the date of foreign passport) for using Indian passport for travel.

date of naturalaization will come into picture when u surrender Indian PP..at that time if ur Indian PP has immigration stamps saying u landed at hyd then the music starts..fines etc etc..

visit visa isatru if apply for fast track for 6 months ..take it come back and then apply for OCI

Yes man I landed in India with in 3 months grace period time as per the rule allowed..

nuvvu already landed ani chepale kada man...anyway 3months grace telvadu naaku...but whilst comin back to uk..u may me b asked at immigration..so have a printout from HCI about grace period...coz here nobody know HCI rules

While coming back I use British passport .. Just scan and exit .. No need to to speak to immigration officer

just in case i f ur stopped while scanning...but this is illegal as I dont know the 3 months grace period
