Hyderabad: The proposed meeting between AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the farmers of 29 villages of the capital on Tuesday will not be attended by those opposed to the government’s land pooling proposal.

 

Farmers of around 11 villages do not want to give their land for construction of the new capital. On being contacted, they said that they had no information about the meeting in Hyderabad. According to them, the proposed meeting of the farmers with Mr Naidu would turn out to be a TD party meeting.

 

M. Seshagiri Rao, a farmer of Rayipudi village in Guntur district, said that the farmers of 11 villages were not ready to give up their lands. He added that no one had invited them to attend the meeting at Hyderabad with the CM.

 

Another farmer, Srinivas of Nidumarru in Guntur district said that only pro-TD and pro-land pooling farmers had been selected for the meeting and added that no body from his village had been selected.
