Inspite of what the stock Indian physician says in that article, he'll become part of the mafia demanding more stringent rules for foreign doctors.

 

The bigger problem is exclusivity of these professionals, by limiting the number of doctors that can be minted per year, so their salaries don't fall.

 

Anyone with an IQ above 120 can become a doctor. And I hope when the first wave of AI robots hit, doctors will be the ones who lose their jobs. 

 

It's unlikely to happen in US. But somewhere with a universal health care. or may be Jamaica, where people can fly in to have free diagnostics and surgery, and the Jamaican govt makes money from the medical tourism.

 

I just wrote a machine learning algorithm for a plastic surgeon friend, that approximates the image the face will take after recovery to about 99%. He promised me to help me in my cause to wipe out doctors from the planet :P
