bindazking Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Check this out http://www.hinduwebsite.com/hinduism/h_fatalism.asp Per that webpage: Contrary to the popular belief, Hinduism does not advocate fatalism of the purest kind. In fatalistic thinking there is no place for free will. Every thing is already preordained and you have little choice, other than follow the plan determined for you by God. --------------------------------------------- So, the popular belief is Everything is Karma. I am confused now

Moon_Walker Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Choice is an illusion created to differentiate those with and without power. Famous quote from the Merovingian this is the nature of the universe; we struggle against it, we fight to deny it, but it is of course pretend, it is a lie. Beneath our poised appearance, the truth is we are completely out of control. Causality. There is no escaping it. We are forever slaves to it. Our only hope, our only peace is to understand it, to understand the why. Why is what separates us from them, you from me. Why is the only real source of power, without it you are powerless.

phoenix_nebula Posted November 20, 2014 Author Report Posted November 20, 2014 Yes its says its predetermined to some extent Interesting observation by quantam physcits also came to know that its predetermined Please Read about LIBET and his research http://www.evolutionnews.org/2014/01/do_benjamin_lib081171.html The experiments show, then, that not only are decisions made before we're conscious of having made them, but that the brain imagery can predict what decision will be made with substantial accuracy. This has obvious implications for the notion of "free will," at least as most people conceive of that concept. We like to think that our conscious selves make decisions, but in fact the choices appear to have been made by our brains before we're aware of them. The implication, of course, is that deterministic forces beyond are conscious control are involved in our "decisions", i.e. that free will isn't really "free". Physical and biological determinism rules, and we can't override those forces simply by some ghost called "will." We really don't make choices -- they are made long before we're conscious of having chosen strawberry versus pistachio ice cream at the store.
