‘Hyderabad Will Be Home To $50 Billion It Industry By 2025’

Representatives of the IT industry from the city and other parts of the country portended a healthy growth for the industry in next few decades.

 Speaking at the 25th anniversary celebrations of the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), they said Hyderabad was on the path of healthy growth, with the scope to create massive job opportunities in the future.

 

 “Hyderabad was a late entrant to the IT industry, but it is poised to grow to $50 billion by 2025. The IT industry has benefited the youth in the city massively,” said NASSCOM vice-chairman B.V.R Mohan Reddy.

 

Hyderabad’s IT industry currently employs 14.5 lakh, which is set to increase in the coming years.

 

 Mr. Reddy recounted contributions made former chief ministers of undivided Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu and Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy. He said the two were responsible for making Hyderabad what it is today. Members of NASSCOM also recounted the beginnings of the association in 1989.

 

They said the IT industry and NASSCOM are inseparable in building brand India. The association also paid tributes to its first president Dewang Mehta through a film dedicated to the growth of NASSCOM and the growth of the industry.

 Telangana IT Secretary Harpreet Signh said the government was ever-prepared to support the growth of the industry.
