Hi, I am using Bose Cinemate GS Series II. Purchased it in Amazon a year ago for $600. Good for Apartment. You should hear it before you purchase. Price- definitely overpriced. But very simple setup with good sound. Not a fan of Bose but I liked it. Now on sale at Bose for $350. I personally feel $350 as a good price to buy that. At $600 don't think so.

Couple of things to share based on personal experience-
1- Don't go for 5.1 channel- if you live in rented apt. I you own house the wiring will be once for all. You can have good home theatre with AV receiver. unless u r a audiophile not significant difference u can feel from 2.1 to 5.1
3- Bose - 110-240. Can use it in India. It's very expensive in India

One last input- speakers are like food. Not everyone likes the same food. Expensive don't mean it's good. Personally u have to listen to feel it or like it. They don't sound the same at home as in showroom due to set-up and also they need initial breakdown period to get better.
If like bass more focus on companies with good sub- woofer. Klipsch, Polk, Harmon Kardon. If you are not big fan of bass- go for Bose you won't disappoint. Feels good for melodies and songs from 90's
