Qatar, Erors To Invest In Andhra Pradesh.

Qatar firms keen to invest Rs. 60,000 Crore in Andhra Pradesh.

A special delegation led by Sheikh Hamad Bin Nasser Al-Thani, advisor at the General Secretariat of Council of Ministers, Qatar met CBN and demonstrated interest to invest Rs. 60,000 Crore in the State.

During the meeting, CBN enlightened the delegation on AP’s vast potential as an investment destination. Sheikh Hamad Bin Nasser Al-Thani invited CBN to visit Qatar.

Andhra Pradesh attracts one of India's largest foreign investments in the entertainment sector.

The UK based Eros Investments Ltd, a subsidiary of NYSE-listed Eros International Plc, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up a mega entertainment city in Vizag involving $5-10 billion (approximately Rs. 30,000-60,000 crore).

As a part of the proposed India Entertainment City, Eros International Plc plans to build media city, amusement park, commercial and residential complexes, hotels, leisure options and healthcare facilities.

CBN said, “The proposed investment by Eros would give huge fillip to tourism and create employment, infrastructure and usher in investments into Andhra Pradesh, apart from helping the services sector in the State earn revenues.”

A statement released by the AP Chief Minister’s Office said, “Eros in its proposed integrated media city project plans to have pre-production, production and post-production facilities for film, TV and advertising industries.”

But in most cases these are just feelers sent by the investors to get noticed by other states .so that they can negotiate better deals/incentives with other state governments

In last 2 years I have seen such news/stories of billions of $$ investment proposals for AP,but I don't know if 1% of them actually lnvested??
