Trs To Intensify Demand For Special Status For Telangana

Hyderabad: The TRS will seek special status for the new Telangana state from the Centre. It will also   ask it to maintain status quo over the naming of the domestic terminal at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport after NTR, hike in MPLADS funds from Rs 5 crore per annum to Rs 8 crore during the Winter Session of Parliament.

 

The party MPs who will call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also plan to seek national project status for Prahanita Chevella irrigation project, completion of pending railway projects, quick action on bifurcation of the High Court, division of civil servants among others.

 

“We will request the Centre to give special status to the new state of Telangana and increase in Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) funds from Rs 5 crore per annum to Rs 8 crore since the present amount is insufficient for a constituency,” TRS MP Balka Suman told media.

 

He said the CM gave directions to the party MPs on various issues to be raised in Parliament in the ensuing winter session, present a memorandum to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking special status for Telangana, increase MPLAD funds among others.

 

Referring to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and other TD leaders that NTR gave Rajakiya Biksha(political alms) to KCR in politics, he hit back saying one should not forget that Indira Gandhi gave Rajakiya Biksha to Chandrababu Naidu. :3D_Smiles:  :3D_Smiles:
