I think Canon version are simple and easy for started compared to Nikon, my personal opinion is Nikon is a little complicated and you will have to memorize the manual.

if you are using just for home photos and not as a hobby got for t3i or t4i based on your budget or deals. Instead of putting money on body for beginner you can put that on lenses/flash.

 

if you get more interest and want to pursue as a serious hobby then you can buy new body and the lenses can be reused.

 I think ur using canon.... .. I use nikon... for me Canon is complicated... its never ending debate regarding canon vs nikon..
