yeah the're launching antey , the'll sell the cars and provide spares and services officially , that doesn't make the prices cheaper .... even lamborghini and ferrari have launched officially in india , still they import the cars as CBUs , thats y they're so expensive in india ....

Prices thaggichali antey they have to start manufacturing them in India ( Like Merc and BMW ) .... I dont think the'll setup a manufacturing plant in india anytime soon ...

Cars like Infinitis , Lexuses , Porsches etc are imported as CBUs ( Completely built units ) , Import duties on CBUs is close to 160 % ... 

 

so, if a car costs 60k in the US after import duty in india it costs about 156k ( 60k + 96k import duty ) ... that equates to about 96 lakh rupees and added to that u need to pay an additional 14% road tax & registration tax .... So .. it'll easily cost over 1 crore on road

 

 

CBU vehicle coming to India from abroad is liable for an import duty of nearly 110% while the CKD attracts 60% duty

andaru dont tear drayers man, India lo car import is very tough outside dealerships. Ma uncle okalu chala powerful AMG okati kondam anukunnadu and UK lo dealer tho kuda  matladesadu. But import bureaucracy is super tough and anni lanchams tho it is becomes too costly. and my uncle is a businessman who has good influence in govt and politicians...
