Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu in his own style expressed his straightforward opinion to the farmers of Thullur when they met him on the issue of land acquisition and land pooling. Venkaiah told the farmers that the capital city will be shifted to Nuziveedu if the farmers won't cooperate and clarified to them that the value of their lands has multiplied due to the proposed AP capital. He stated that some persons with vested interests were provoking the farmers to rebel.

నవ్యాంధ్రప్రదేశ్ రాజధానిపై కేంద్ర పట్టణాభివృద్ధి శాఖ మంత్రి వెంకయ్యనాయుడు తనదైన శైలిలో నర్మగర్భ వ్యాఖ్యలు చేశారు. కొత్త రాజధాని నగరాన్ని అన్ని రకాల హంగులూ, ఆకర్షణలతోనే నిర్మించనున్నట్లు పరోక్షంగా వ్యాఖ్యానించారు. తద్వారా రాజధాని నగరంపై ప్రభుత్వం వ్యవహరిస్తున్న తీరును నిరసిస్తున్న ప్రతిపక్షాల నోళ్లు మూయించారు. రాజధాని నగరంపై రూపొందిన ఓ పుస్తకాన్ని శనివారం విజయవాడలో ఆవిష్కరించిన సందర్భంగా ఆయన ఈ వ్యాఖ్యలు చేశారు. 

రాజధాని నగరం అంటే కేవలం అసెంబ్లీ, సచివాలయం, హైకోర్టు, ఇతర ప్రభుత్వ కార్యాలయాలే కాదని ఆయన అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. రాజధానిలో అవి మాత్రమే ఉంటే, ప్రభుత్వ పనుల కోసం వచ్చే వారు మాత్రమే ఉంటారన్నారు. అలా కాక ఇతరత్రా హంగూ, ఆకర్షణలు ఉంటే రాస్ట్రానికి పెట్టుబడులు పోటెత్తుతాయన్నారు. కేవలం ప్రభుత్వ కార్యలాపాలు ఉంటే అసలు రాజధాని నగరంగా ఎలా విలసిల్లుతుందని కూడా వెంకయ్య ప్రశ్నించారు. ఇందుకు ఉదాహరణగా గుజరాత్ రాజధాని గాంధీనగర్ ను ఆయన సోదాహరణంగా ప్రస్తావించారు. గాంధీనగర్ లో సాయంత్రమైతే ఒక్క పురుగు కూడా ఉండదన్నారు. నవ్యాంధ్ర రాజధాని నేపథ్యంలో విజయవాడలోనే కాక తుళ్లూరులోనూ భూముల ధరలు... న్యూయార్క్, శాన్ ఫ్రాన్సిస్కో రేట్లను తలదన్నే రీతిలో ఉన్నాయని ఆయన చెప్పారు.
