how will that control piracy?

most of the pirated prints are recorded by the theatre owners or the people who operate them .... u think any random guy can go and fix a camera in any theatre and just start recording ? ,,,, i dont think its so simple ......

atleast that way u can put a fear in the people who run the theatres , there are devices that detect camera lenses in theatres like the following

http://www.pirateeye.com/pirateeye/history/   ....

theatre owners will be more careful and use technology like this to track the people who try to record in theatres ........ piracy cannot be controlled if the theatre owners are not proactive in stopping activities like these

its like trying to close the gates after the dam is broken.

people who watch pirated movies are not the kind to go to cinema if the pirated version isn't available.

So, I doubt theatre owners will be enthusiastic in investing in technologies that don't improve their bottomline.

what may improve the industry is delivery models. maybe online streaming etc.

but the current model is so lucrative, everyone in this food chain is hoping that the piracy problem corrects itself magically and that they can go back to days of awesome profits. It'll never happen.

yeah , no theatre owner would voluntarily invest in something that doesn't benefit him financially ,

they wouldn't even add a fire exit to the theatre or put fire extinguishers inside the theatre if its not the law lol

but if the pirated print can be tracked down to the theatre where it was recorded at and if the theatre owners are made liable to it ( by bringing in a law of some sorts ) then certainly the'll do it ...
