suppose u booked ur ticket from SFO to Chennai and ur airlines gave u a flight change in Canada (may be nee tkt Air Canada lo anuko) 

appudu visa emi akkarledu... but u cant leave the airport  in Canada.

U need transit visa or visitor visa to travel via Canada

you can fly via canada connecting flight. but if you want to step outside canada airport, you need transit visa for less than 3 days. for more than 10 days, u need visiting visa.

air canada tho prob entante canada lone us immigration untundhi so first u have to literally step into canada and then go to us immigration

as long as ur flying on a single ticket ala emi avvadu thats for sure. I traveled 4-5 times. thru canada, thru paris, thru amsterdam .

 

But now a days when we are booking tickets via some 3rd party websites, avi cheap deals isthunnayi kaani, single tkt medha ivvatam ledu. ala ivvakapothe then problem.

i went thru canada. and did not face anything like that. 

 

there are reports that some 3rd party websites are booking tkts differently. 

like Detroit to Mumbai tickets search chesthu low fare option peytukunte.... Detroit ninchi lekapothe, websites logic is searching like...

Detroit to Toronto and then Toronto to Mumbai.... and show us that search result. 

Manam as usual ga adi book cheysukuntam. But actually thats like 2 different tkts. 1 from Detroit to Toronto and 2nd Toronto to Mumbai. many of us dont observe that. but alanti cases lo nuvvu cheppinatu it will be a problem. Coz u need to come out and pass immigrations in Canada. 

 

But ala kakunada if u have a direct tkts from US to India via Canada, apudu asala nuvvu International terminal lo ninchi bayataki emi raavu. U will be in the same international terminal may be same gate or sometimes different gate. So u can board the next connecting flight (same like u do in any other place like Paris).

 

Only near by US....flight aaginapudu u will have this prob. coz sometimes those flights stop in domestic terminal and not international terminal.
