Mastaru i am on Tier-2 genral (UK lo apply chesa)
i strongly recommend not to come to UK on Tier-2 (unless you got sponsorship from client)
most of the Agencies are not encouraging Tier-2 (tier-2 ante 10gamanthuanru)
i struggled for 8 months ( Interview ayipoyi,  job placement and joining date vachaka last minute lo Agency vaadu we dont work with Tier-2 ani hand iicharu)
ila 3 jobs lo jarigindi. No job, nothing.
edo lucky ga oka agency vaadu accept chesau , i am contining on it.
Naaku inko 1.5 years lo PR ki eligible avtha, anduke kastam ayina, elago maintain chesthunaa.
If agencies accept Tier-2 candidates , market is good,

naa deggera cheppinchukunna chana mandi friends , okk mukka rakapoyina, Tier-1 meda vunnaru , manchi jobs kottaru.
Its all depends on Luck, long term contract, agency vaadu accept cheste, baane vuntadi
But i dont reccommond any one , its my personal opinion

Tier2 is becoming a very risky option. A week or two ago, new changes were proposed and govt wants to implement them. how effectively? that question is for another day.

Consider the political scenario - General elections will be in 2015 May. Tories wants to prove they can cut down immigration and hence the splurge in rules. Labour - chances are so bleak and dim. Lib Dem - not a mainsteam challenger. UKIP - serious contender and dead against immigration.

right, back to Tier 2 - unless the client sponsors you, i wouldn't suggest this option at all. My company got rid of all people on tier 2 general visa many months ago and I heard of similar fate from many people. Prospective employers doesn't want to take a chance with Tier2.  So decide if its worth the risk, money and time.

How to get tier2 - Agents/consultancies who wants to sponsor you, has to a do resident labour test (job ad) and then only they can provide certificate of sponsorship to the you. this is where the new rules sound stern. Any case worker can apply to that job ad and they needs to be convinced that the position is indeed a genuine one and not fabricated. if they find something, they can go after the sponsor and can cancel their sponsorship or give them bad sponsor ratings, which affects their renewal. so who wants to take that chance and risk? of course desi and greedy sponsors are there, but they would the first ones to abandon the boat if it hits the rocks. is that a worthy investment?

***as many people has mentioned, UK is hard place to get a IT job though market is blooming. economy is reviving too and its not just a bubble. A genuine increase in manufacturing, a stable inflation, decrease in unemployment and a positive outlook and definitely its not a housing bubble. housing prices are ridiculously high, but people are confident that they can pay their loans and more over Banking regulations are tougher than ever in awarding loans. only a worthy and genuine new home owner can get a loan.

back to economy and Visas - Lot of money is getting waste in the form of benefits for europeans and others. if it can be addressed, it will be a different nation. so how to? simple- stop people coming from coming to uk from europe and else where (includes india) and that is the motto of UKIP and new election mantra here.

Think in detail and take an informed decision but not a rushed one. Good Luck
