C B N Gift To Disabled People

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The handicapped, disabled or differently-abled are important members of the society. Telugu Desam has been exemplary in empowering their lives with livelihood opportunities and means to sustenance.

CBN's Government has created the political and public policies by factoring in the needs of the differently-abled and ways to address their aspirations. It is making sure that all buildings to be built in the new Capital City will be disabled-friendly. They will be provided with special basic amenities to make them feel that they have a stake in the community.

Some of the Government initiatives undertaken for the upliftment of the differently-abled:

* ‘NTR Bharosa’ - monthly pensions for the differently-abled have been increased from Rs. 500/- to Rs. 1500/-
* CBN’s Government is dispensing pensions under two slabs: Rs. 1000/- for 40-79% disability and Rs. 1500/- for 80% disability
* Education enables social inclusion. For this purpose, the Government is running 20 hostels, 6 Gurukul Schools and 1 Gurukul Junior College

CBN is participating at an event in Cherukuri Kalyana Mandapam, Rajahmundry, to observe the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
