donganaaK Posted December 5, 2014 Report Posted December 5, 2014 *The headline and the article, which appeared on page 14 of the print edition of December 5, have been updated to correct certain erroneous quotations. Reacting strongly to questions on Union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti's controversial comments targeting non-Hindus, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdhullah on Thursday said he doubted if Kashmiris will vote for a party that considers non-believers of Lord Ram as bastards. "People know what the BJP is all about," Omar said while campaigning at Tral. "The BJP has a central minister who calls all non-believers of Lord Ram as bastards. This is the BJP that tells the people of Kashmir to follow them. This is the BJP that the people need to be warned about. There is only one force that can stop BJP's divisive agenda, and that is the National Conference," he said while campaigning in Tral on Thursday. Asked how he thought the response for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming rally will be, Abdullah said: "I don't know how many people will be in the rally, but one lakh people won't vote for the BJP here. I don't think one lakh Kashmiris will want to be labelled bastards. It is good that Kashmiris have seen the real face of the BJP. They come veiled but sometimes it (the veil) slips." Abdullah expressed hope that Modi will clear the air on all issues at his December 8 rally in Kashmir. "I am sure at the December 8 rally in Kashmir, the Prime Minister will reply to all my questions and then things will become clear to people," he said.
