There are reports that Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has applied for a diplomatic visa by visiting the US consulate on Thursday. Sources say that there have been no plans for any investment trip to the United States by the CM. He had earlier visited Singapore and Malaysia as part of an invite by a prominent group. But a national daily popular in the state has reported that there has been speculations of some illness for KCR and there was already news that he may be visiting the US for an important treatment. While a TRS leader had claimed that a US visa is valid for ten years and hence KCR has applied for one, to visit at any time in future, no one finds this reason convincing. The grapevine about KCR's health concerns have been brewing strongly in the last few months. But those who are close to him say he is a tough nut to crack and such issues will not really stop him from doing his daily work. KCR applied for a diplomatic visa to the United States. He completed the formalities by visiting the 'Consulate' on Thursday sparking off speculation that a visit to the United States was imminent.

However, Venugopala Chary, the official representative of the Telangana government in New Delhi said that it was just a routine visit.

Stating that the visa would be valid for a period of ten years and that there were no imminent plans to visit the US.

The primary speculation was that when KCR would visit the US, he would utilize the occasion to get a full medical check-up done. There have been rumors doing the rounds for some time now regarding KCR’s health.

In fact, during a recent interview given to Deccan Chronicle, when Harish Rao was asked about a possible rivalry with KTR, son of KCR, he dismissed the question saying that KCR was in very good health and that both he and KTR loved working under KCR.
