JANASENA Posted December 7, 2014 Report Posted December 7, 2014 Two schoolkids belonging to underprivileged families recently turned in a bag containing Rs 80,000, which they found on their way back from school.Aniket (12) and Monali (11) found a bag lying on the road near their home in Bhiwandi,Thane. They opened it and found documents and cash of Rs 80,000. "After coming across the large sum, we realized that someone had lost his bag. Both of us made a resolve to find the rightful owner and return it back. We went home and told our parents about the cash," said Aniket. Monali's father, Sadu searched the bag and found a passbook of one Afzal Khan. He borrowed a cellphone from a neighbour and gave missed calls on the numbers mentioned in the passbook. Khan later returned the call and found out about the bag. "I am happy that my daughter and her friend chose to be honest and tell us about the incident. They also urged us to help in the search of the owner," said Sadu. Sadu is employed as a security guard and Aniket's parents are daily-wage labourers.
