donganaaK Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 FD regular account lo 5L n 5L two unte tax kattala Naku 2 FDs unnay 5 L each. Adi India lo regular account. the bank will automatically deduct the tax from the interest amount and will deposit the remaining amount in your account ( this is called as tax deduction at source or TDS ) .. if you update ur PAN card with the bank the'll deduct 10% tax and the'll deduct 20% from the interest if the bank doesn't have ur PAN card details.... if your income is below the tax slab then you can claim a refund while filing ur taxes ...

If your account is not NRE account, the bank will deduct tax from the interest earned is above Rs 15,000 a year and will give you a TDS certificate for the amount the bank deducts. If you do not have any income in India, you can file income tax (attach the TDS certificate) and can get refund
