State Investment Promotion Board meeting

In a high-level meeting with the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) and the industries department, Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu today directed them to give faster clearances for land, offer tax incentives and other benefits to industries.

The Chief Minister has asked to set up an Economic Development Board (EDB) which will oversee sector-wise clearances/development of various industries like automobile, textiles, food parks, etc. This should happen through a “single-desk” clearance, the Chief Minister said.

He suggested officials to also set up an Escort Executive Committee that will supervise, monitor and track the progress of environmental clearances of industries.

The Chief Minister directed the SIPB to come up with a sector-wise as well as a comprehensive industrial policy which will boost investments in the state and build an investor-friendly ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also laid out a plan to develop a four-lane road alongside the coast between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada. This project, he said, would also envisage linking roads connecting the highway. He added that a canal linking Godavari River be created alongside this four-lane road in order to channelize the water to Visakhapatnam. He has asked officials to prepare a design for this dream project of the state government.

According to him, this would enable the state government to promote state tourism on this belt which includes linking roads and water network. “The project, due to the road linkage and water availability, will also help in attracting industries,” the Chief Minister added.

He also asked to grant approvals to cement industries like Ramco, Prism, JSW and other industries in Kurnool.
He has also directed them to give clearances and tax incentives to major industries like Asian Paints, Gujarat Ambuja Export Ltd., Universal Coke & Power Ltd and Shahi
Exports (to develop textile parks) and others.

Further, the Chief Minister has also asked officials to implement the decisions taken on his Japan and Singapore trips. This includes setting up “Japan Desk” and also working on introducing Japanese language in AP’s Universities.

Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishna Murthy, Finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, principal secretaries and secretaries Satish Chandra, Sambasiva Rao, JSV Prasad, SP Singh, JC Sharma, Ajay Jain, Satyanarayana, Jawahar Reddy, Rajat Kumar, Sai Prasad and other officials were present at the meeting.
