ben77 Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 if it is 10% then for $100 bill you have to pay $10 from your pocket

adavilo anna Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 Also, Coinsurance amount can be billed to to other insurance plan, I like to refer it as secondary insurance. Just as an example, if you are married you have an insurance from your employer and you are also enrolled in your wifes insuarance with her employer. In this case the coinsurance amt can be billed to your wifes insurance compny !
Kottukusaavandi03 Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 You have to pay Deductible first and then Coinsurance %. Lets say you have $1000 deductible & 10% coinsurance and your total bill is $10,000 You have to pay Deductible (1000) + Coinsurance (10% of 10,000 = 1000) = 2000
