afrnds Posted December 10, 2014 Report Posted December 10, 2014 New Delhi: Narendra Modi-led NDA government has already decided to give the country's highest civilian honor Bharat Ratna to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. News is that the announcement is likely to come on his birthday on December 25. It also marks Vajpayee's 90th birthday and reports say that the government is going to bestow the Bharat Ratna award to him on January 26th, the Republic Day. It was BJP MPs who demanded that the former BJP Prime Minister be conferred with the highest civilian honor. During the previous NDA government tenure in 2004, Bharat Ratna was conferred on singer Lata Mangeshkar, Ustad Bismillah Khan, Amartya Sen, Pandit Ravi Shankar, Gopinath Bordoloi and Jayaprakash Narayan. It will be for Vajpayee this year.
