కేంద్ర మంత్రి వెంకయ్యనాయుడు రాజ్యసభను మంత్రముగ్ధం చేశారు. మత మార్పిళ్లు అంశంపై ఆయన సమర్ధవంతమైన వాదనను వినిపించారు. భారత దేశాన్ని ప్రపచం మొత్తం హిందూ దేశమనే పేర్కొంటుందని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు. జాతీయపతాకాం ఆవిష్కరించేప్పుడు, ఓ ప్రముఖ కార్యక్రమం పూర్తి చేసినప్పుడు, దేశ భక్తి రంగిలించేటప్పుడు జైహింద్ అనే అంతా అంటామని ఆయన గుర్తుచేశారు.

అంతే కానీ హిందూ అనేది మోదీ పెట్టిన పేరు కాదని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు. దేశంలో ఎవరి మనోభావాలకు అనుగుణంగా వారు మత విశ్వాసాలు అనుసరించవచ్చని ఆయన వివరించారు. అలా అని చెప్పి ఇతర మతాలపై విషబీజాలు నాటడం సరికాదని ఆయన అభిప్రాయపడ్డారు. రాజ్యసభలో అద్భుతంగా మాట్లాడే అసదుద్దీన్ ఓవైసీ సోదరుడు అక్బరుద్దీన్ ఒవైసీ హైదరాబాదులో ఎలా మాట్లాడారో అందరికీ తెలిసిందేనని ఆయన గుర్తు చేశారు.

ఎవరి విశ్వాసాలను వారు అనుసరించడంలో తప్పులేదని చెప్పిన ఆయన, ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ తమ భావాలు వ్యక్తం చేయడంలో సంయమనం పాటించాలని సూచించారు. ఇతరుల భావాలను గాయపరిచే స్వేచ్ఛ ఎవరికీ లేదని ఆయన వెల్లడించారు. దేశానికి ఏది మంచి జరుగుతుందో, దేశంలోని ప్రజలు దేనిని విశ్వసిస్తారో, ప్రజలు ఏది కోరుకుంటారో అదే కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం చేస్తుందని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు.

ఆర్ఎస్ఎస్ సభ్యుడిగా ఉండడానికి తాను గర్విస్తానని ఆయన వివరించారు. ప్రతిపక్షాలు ఏదైనా మాట్లాడే ముందు వినడానికి ఓపిక ఉండాలని ఆయన హితవు పలికారు. భవిష్యత్ తరాల నేతలు ఉభయ సభల్లో మాట్లాడుతుంటే వారి పరిజ్ఞానానికి, మాటల్లో వారి పరిణతికి మంత్రముగ్ధులమవుతున్నామని ఆయన వెల్లడించారు. ప్రతి ఒక్కరికీ ఓపిక ఉండాలని ఆయన స్పష్టం చేశారు.

Venkaiah Naidu addresses the Lok Sabha over Conversion row

Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu addressed the parliament on the Agra reconversion row, saying that it was an important issue which is agitating the entire nation and defended the government.

"Some people are behaving as if the government is responsible for these conversions. It is a national challenge; it is not happening only today, it has been happening for a long time. And the government has just come to power. Some people are trying to use this to just accuse our government," Naidu told the Lok Sabha.

He also said that the isuue was being seen from a narrow point of view. "I'm partly disappointed with the way in which conversion row was discussed in Lok Sabha," he told the house.

"We've been in opposition for 50 years," Naidu roared when the opposition disrupted the house.

Naidu also responded to allegations that the Modi government was promoting communalism.

"Another propaganda is that communal violence has risen since govt came to power. You may be disappointed but they have not increased. You may be inflating the number but it has not increased. The opposition is behaving like the heavens are falling," he said taking a dig at the opposition

Naidu also asserted that communal violence had reduced since the BJP came to power. "Agra DM told me that there is peace in the region. Law and order is a state subject. How is the Centre responsible for any of the events in Agra? I just had a discussion with the home ministry officials,they told me they are in touch with the state (UP)," he asked the house.

"Freedom of faith is enshrined in the Constitution, everyone should respect this," Naidu said as the din around him grew.

"I feel proud to have the RSS background. Because of RSS discipline and background I have come so far," Naidu said.

As soon as Naidu made his comments, the Samajwadi Party leaders walked out of the house in protest.

He also defended Dinanath Batra and RSS functionaries and said he was proud to belong to the organisation. "Dinanath Batra is one of the greatest educationists. I take it as an insult that I had gone to America to convert people."

"It is well known in this country that mass conversion happen by force. Sardar Patel admitted mass conversions took place in India. I submit that we cannot tolerate this. We do not want that the numerical figures of Hindus and others to lessen," he said.

"Why do you target other beliefs? If it doesn't come in the way of public order then it shouldnt matter," Naidu said.

He also likened the opposition to a broken record, stuck on the issue of religion and saffronisation. "We used to listen to records as children and they would get stuck and keep playing the same parts over and over again," Naidu described imitating the sounds of record."

Most opposition walked out while Naidu replied on behalf of the government on conversion row.

"The government is committed to ensuring communal harmony in the country," Naidu assured the house.

రాజ్యసభలో కేంద్ర మంత్రి వెంకయ్యనాయుడు నవ్వుల పూవులు పూయించారు. మతమార్పిళ్లపై చర్చ సందర్భంగా ఆయన కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం యొక్క వాదనను సీరియస్ గా సమర్ధవంతంగా వినిపించారు. అలా చెబుతుండగా ఆయన ప్రతిపక్షాలపై వ్యంగ్యాస్త్రాలు సంధించారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా ప్రతిపక్షాల తీరు ఎలా ఉందంటే "నేను చిన్నతనంలో ఉండగా ఏవీఎం వారి గ్రామ్ ఫోన్ రికార్డులు ఉండేవి. వాటిల్లో పాటలు వినేవాడిని. 

అవి పాడైపోతున్న దశలో పాట మధ్యలో స్టక్ అయిపోయి 'ఓ చందమామ...ఓ చందమామ...ఓ చందమామ అంటూ పాడినదే మళ్లీ మళ్లీ పాడేది" అన్నారు. దీంతో అప్పటి వరకూ సీరియస్ గా ఆయన వాదనను విన్న రాజ్యసభ నవ్వుల్లో మునిగి పోయింది. స్పీకర్ సుమిత్రా మహాజన్ సహా అందరూ నవ్వడంతో తాను సరదాగా చెప్పడంలేదని, ప్రతి పక్షాలు పాడిన పాటే పాడుతూ అసహనానికి గురి చేస్తున్నారని ఆయన వ్యాఖ్యానించారు.
