Sreedharan meets AP CM

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation principal advisor E. Sreedharan today met Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu today.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister has requested Mr Sreedharan to submit the feasibility report on Metro Rail projects in VGTM (Vijayawada Guntur Tenali Mangalgiri) area and Visakhapatnam. He has also asked the DMRC to begin metro rail works from June 2015.

The Chief Minister also requested the DMRC principal advisor to ensure that the phase I of the VGTM and Visakhapatnam metro rail projects is completed by 2018. Mr Sreedharan also discussed the financial assistance required for the project.

Meanwhile, the CM also asked Mr Sreedharan to explore connectivity options between Tirupati, Kanipakam and Srikalahasti and submit a report. The Chief Minister said that the metro rail project should be built with a futuristic view keeping the next 50 years in mind.

Union IT minister lauds CM for introducing e-Cabinet in India

Union IT Minister Sri Ravi Shankar Prasad today met Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu and praised him for chairing the country’s first paperless e-Cabinet meeting.

Stating that the Chief Minister is an example of a tech-savvy and progressive leader, the Union Minister said that other CMs in India could take cues from him.

The Union Minister said that Andhra Pradesh is setting new benchmarks with the use of technology and IT in public welfare schemes such as pensions, PDS and sale of sand through SHGs through Aadhar seeding.

He said that Andhra Pradesh government’s decision to introduce digital classrooms is a step towards revolutionizing education in the state.

The government’s use of social media during Cyclone Hudhud and in sending out information on updates on the government’s day-today happenings is praiseworthy, the Union Minister added.

8-lane highway between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada for industrial development and promotion of tourism.

Keeping in mind the role that roads play in improving connectivity, enhancing investment, accelerating industrial development and boosting the State's international trade and tourism, CBN has asked the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) to undertake the construction of an 8-lane highway between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada.

CBN has also directed officials to focus on creating an industrial hub for every 10 kms. between Buckingham canal and National Highway 49.
