Nellore Pedda reddy Posted December 16, 2014 Report Posted December 16, 2014 Opening This Week - December 19 The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) - [Opens 12/17] 144 min - Adventure | Fantasy Metascore: 65/100 (15 reviews) Bilbo and Company are forced to engage in a war against an array of combatants and keep the terrifying Smaug from acquiring a kingdom of treasure and obliterating all of Middle-Earth. Director: Peter Jackson Stars: Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Cate Blanchett Watch Trailer Add to Watchlist Get Tickets THE BUZZ: Confessions of a former Unexpected Journey hater: It was The Desolation of Smaugthat helped me to re-engage with Bilbo and the Dwarves and remember that, with the release ofFive Armies, it will soon be possible to watch the entire Hobbit/LOTR saga in proper sequential order. Not to mention that the titular battle should be the best extended scene rendered on the big screen this year. And if "Regal Armor" Thorin is made available as a toy, I'll buy two (one to keep in its packaging, the other to cast love spells upon). The same goes for Bard in any form.
Nellore Pedda reddy Posted December 16, 2014 Author Report Posted December 16, 2014 Annie (2014) 118 min - Comedy | Drama | Family | Musical Metascore: 23/100 (5 reviews) A foster kid, who lives with her mean foster mom, sees her life change when business tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in. Director: Will Gluck Stars: Quvenzhané Wallis, Cameron Diaz, Jamie Foxx, Rose Byrne Watch Trailer Add to Watchlist Get Tickets THE BUZZ: When was the last time a family movie found itself caught up in a real-world drama involving computer hackers, embarrassing leaked corporate documents, and an alarming note that a "big surprise" is coming from the aforementioned hackers on Christmas Day? It's enough to overshadow this particular movie's good intentions and the welcome return of Quvenzhané Wallis to a starring role, though we can't help but wonder what direction the story might've taken if Willow Smith hadn't quit the production (picture the PR nightmare Sony would have found itself in, however, given the mean-spirited internal emails about Willow and her brother).
Nellore Pedda reddy Posted December 16, 2014 Author Report Posted December 16, 2014 Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014) 97 min - Adventure | Comedy | Family | Fantasy Metascore: 38/100 (4 reviews) Larry spans the globe, uniting favorite and new characters while embarking on an epic quest to save the magic before it is gone forever. Director: Shawn Levy Stars: Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Dick Van Dyke Watch Trailer Add to Watchlist Get Tickets THE BUZZ: If you were a box-office gambler, odds are you'd be betting against the third installment of the Night at the Museum franchise to do well since the second movie had a substantial drop from the original across the world -- a very rare occurrence. The vague plot about "saving magic" might not do the movie any favors during the busy holiday season and its crowded film calendar, too.
