Armed with a budget of Rs. 700 Crore, Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) will soon begin a massive exercise to equip 2 Crore youngsters with adequate skills in the next 10 years. They will receive certificates at the end of the training session. Training will be offered in various sectors, including mapping, construction, and manufacturing. At the mandal-level, training will be offered in agriculture and allied activities, while at the district-level training will be given in garment-making, plumbing, etc. Similarly, at the regional (Rayalaseema, North Coastal Andhra, Central Andhra)-level, training will be given in computer/software courses, healthcare and energy sector. People in coastal Andhra region will be trained to work in marine, Naval and shipping-related industries. CBN’s government is aiming to operate 100 skill development centres by 2016.
