Hydration

Keeping hydrated is important to your over all health, but if you don't drink enough water it can also make you tired. Being dehydrated can effect your concentration. It causes your blood to be thicker and not flow as efficiently.

Skipping Breakfast

Eating breakfast helps with the amount of energy you have throughout the day. When you sleep your body continues using nutrients. By the time you wake up you need to refuel.

Caffeine

Caffeine in the morning is really no big deal. Abusing caffeine can cause more harm then good. You should always stop drinking caffeinated beverages in the afternoon to prevent sleep cycle issues.

Iron

If you don't have enough iron in your diet you might find that you're more tired than usual. Increasing your iron intake can help keep you alert. Try adding dark green veggies, peanut butter, and eggs to your diet.

The Nightcap

Having a drink before bed causes more problems then it helps. Drinking before bed can cause you to wake up in the middle of the night. Alcohol can act as a sedative but as it's metabolizing it can cause you to get less rest.

Checking your cell phone before bed actually increases your brain activity. Increased brain activity makes it much harder to fall asleep. The blue light emitted by gadgets can suppress melatonin in the body.

Without natural light, the body can sometimes go in to sleep mode. Getting out and going for a walk for at least ten minutes can help boost your energy and mood. People are often more tired and depressed in the winter because of the lack of natural light.

When you have poor posture you can look and feel more tired then usual. When your bones and joints are not lined up your body has to work harder. Practice sitting up straighter as often as you can.

Eating junk food constantly is bad for you. If you eat it constantly you are overloading your body with carbohydrates and sugars. These up and down spikes in blood sugar causes you to become sluggish.

Many people have to take medication as part of their daily routine. Some medications can make you extremely tired. When you are feeling tired after starting a new medication you can talk to your doctor about solutions and alternatives.
