Eyeball

This is an excruciatingly painful place for a tattoo. An up-and-coming artist from the Caribbean, claims that he tattooed all the whites inside his eyes, making them completely black! He stated it was very painful, but it distinguishes him from other artists. Ummm....worth it??

Eyelid

in case getting your eyeball tattooed wasn't horrible enough, how about your eyelid to match? The eyelid is simply skin, with no cushioning to absorb the pain. Not only do you have to worry about the needle going into the flesh; the eye is right underneath that slim slice of skin!

Armpit

Although this is another rare location for a tattoo, it's not unheard of. If you've ever chafed in the armpit area, you know how painful that place can be, so imagine a constant needle pricking your skin under there, for a tattoo!

Wrist Bone

Any tattoo that goes over a bony area, is bound to be painful. Right underneath the skin is the wrist bone, and with the needle constantly hitting that bone for a tattoo, it's going to be painful. Some have described this as the most painful tattoo they've ever received.

Bottom Of The Foot

It's been told to children, that inking the bottom of your foot could cause death. This obviously an old wives' tale! That's not the case with those who choose the painful bottom of the foot tattoo. Although it can only be seen when you have your shoes off, there are those who still dare to get inked.

Spine

With this area being bone after bone rising like knobs back there, this is a very painful place to tattoo. Those with more fatty tissue in that area, will have a better time coping, but pain is still inevitable.

Nose

Surprisingly, nose rings are not the only decoration here anymore. Nose tattoos have been done, and even with the cartilage there, it still can be very painful. Any parts on the body that lack fat, you can anticipate a tattoo being painful.

Bikini Area

It's obvious why this is a painful place for a tattoo. Even simple things such as shaving, waxing, or using hair removal systems, can irritate this area, and leave it bumpy and red. Imagine a tattoo down there!

Tongue

Many people have a tongue piercing, and although this may be a painful process, it can't compare to a tattoo on the tongue. With the needle entering over and over on such a sensitive area, swelling and pain afterwards, is inevitable.

Inner Arm/Inner Elbow

This may not seem like a painful place, but when you're getting the needle it hurts a lot more than you'd expect. Don't go unprepared!

Face/Cheek

Your face area, which usually would consist of the cheek, is another painful location for a tattoo. A young lady posted a picture of her facial tattoo that covered her entire face; it was red and very swollen after the tattoo, and was stated as being extremely painful. Not only that, but it'll be impossible to hide if you decide that you don't like the ink anymore after a few years. EXCEPT! The girl pictured apparently was able to have her stars removed! She looks pretty nice and normal now.

Inner Lip

Due to the lack of fat around your inner lip area, the needle is pressing solely on soft flesh, making this a very painful place for a tattoo. This does not stop the many people that have received a tattoo here.
