A toilet in every household and government school is not a distant dream any more.

School sanitation will receive a major boost with the Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFCL) pledging to build government school toilets in Andhra Pradesh with a funding of Rs. 123 crore.

The activity will be carried out as part of PFCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives under the Swachh Bharat programme.

PFCL will also lend Rs 1,112 crore to improve AP’s energy infrastructure, of which, Rs 1,000 crore will go to the discoms.

Highlights

· 7200 toilets will be built in government schools in all districts except Vizag
· Every primary school would get Rs. 1,000 per month, while higher secondary schools would get Rs. 2,500 per month for maintenance of the toilets

In order to boost productivity, wages and social mobility in Andhra Pradesh, CBN is keen on taking urgent action to improve skill levels of youth and make them job-ready for emerging markets leading to rise in wages and better quality of life.

To achieve this objective, CBN’s Government will soon launch a Skill Development University to provide youth with a perfect mix of education, tools, features and job information to help them discover their strengths and interests and better understanding of where the markets are moving. During a conference with Vice-Chancellors of Universities, CBN suggested to improve AP’s education system to the benefit of all by embracing modern methods of teaching that help youngsters overcome disadvantage.

CBN sets up an enquiry as to why power was cut for 23 minutes!

A recent incident shows the importance given by CBN to making power distribution and supply efficient.

While CBN was reviewing the 24-hour power supply scenario, he found out that power was cut for 23 minutes in Juvvalapalem of West Godavari District. He directed the officials to immediately find out those responsible for the power cut. He reprimanded them to bring in transparency and accountability into the power sector.

With his efforts, the quality of power has improved by leaps and the State will soon become power surplus too.
