Our Client, a leader in networking technology is seeking a Network Customer Support Engineer that has experience with Datacenter switches to join an enterprise team. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level Network Engineer who likes to help resolve technical network issues for clients in a timely manner.
 
Job Duties:
•             Responsible for making sure that datacenter switches are up and running in this enterprise environment
•             Working closely on Layer 2 technologies and various switching platforms such as Data Center Switches, Industrial Ethernet Switches, Blade Switches, Standalone Switches, Modular Switches, Access/ distribution/ core layer Switches.
•             Assisting customers in troubleshooting hardware/software related issues on various platforms like 3550, 3750, 4500, 6500 and Nexus switches
 
Required Skills:
•             3+ years of experience working with L2, routers and switches.
•             Strong knowledge of different routing protocols such as BGP, DNS, RST, TCP/IP, and OSPF, etc.
•             Must have experience working in the networking industry and knowledge of products and protocols must be able to identify network issues and make sure that there is a high level of customer satisfaction.
•             Think quickly on your feet in order to determine the best solution for the network issues.
•             Excellent communication skills are a must since this is a Customer Support Network Engineer role. This includes great listening skills in order to understand the client and know what to troubleshoot.
•             Provide guidance to other team members when necessary
 
Highly preferred:
•             Prior customer facing experience
•             Cisco Nexus Switching experience
•             Cisco certifications; CCNA or CCNP is a plus.
