The Vijayawada Metro rail project plan being laid out by DMRC(Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) may come in the way of 
approved flyovers by NHAI(National Highways Authority of India) and 
National water way 4 by IWAI(Inland Waterways Authority of India) 
as all three departments are coming up with their own designs.
 
Fly overs have been approved at the main junctions of the city at benzcircle, kanaka durga temple, gunadala, 
ramavarapadu ring.
 
A decision has been made that the metro rail will be runnimg for 25 km on bandar road and eluru road 
on which the earlier mentioned junctions are.
 
Concerned authorities are planning to meet to avoid conflict between the three project plans.
 
Surveys were completed and sent to delhi to prepare the detailed project report by end of march next year.
 
5000 familes participated in the survey on bandar road and eluru raod.
Questions asked: 
How many members in the family.
How many of them will travel.
From where to where they will travel.
Monthly income and how much of that income will be spent for travel.
What vehicle will be used for travel and how many kilometers is the travel.
 
Trafic has been surveyed inside and outside of the city to know how many passengers are travelling from 
vijayawada to hyderabad, nuziveed, eluru, bandar, avanigadda and to guntur through prakasam barrage on what days, 
at what time and on what type of vehicles.
 
The main roads of the city - bandar road, gunadala and kristhurajapuram were surveyed to know 
how many passengers were travelling from bycycles to heavy cargo trucks.
 
25 metro stations will be constructed one per each kilometer, 13 stations on eluru road and 12 stations on bandar road.
 
With the main survey being completed and sent to delhi, the final surey for the road dimensions, constructions on those roads,
drainages, foot over bridges, utility poles, trees etc. has been started and will be used for analysis as 25meters width 
is required for metro track.
 
GPSs(Geography position systems) were established at tadigadapa, benz circle, veterinary hospital, ramavarapadu ring, 
gunadala and new autonagar for the purpose of these surveys.
