so until 5th century AD there are no brick layered temples constructed. So when kings actually started to build temples are around 5th century AD.. so chola queen might be the first person to build temple for venkateswara.. and his idol might have been worshipped for ages..

 buddha didnt preach idol worhsip and he didnt allow any to paint his potrait no make a sculpture after 5 centuries.. first idol of buddha was seen in kandahar..
