Five Better Names than THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES

It was announced that Peter Jackson has decided to change the name of the third and final movie of the HOBBIT trilogy. He is calling it THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES instead of THE HOBBIT: THERE AND BACK AGAIN. I guess that name is OK, but here are five titles that I think would be better:

1. THE HOBBIT: AT LEAST PEOPLE CAN SPELL THIS ONE

Have you ever tried to spell Desolation of Smaug? OK, so maybe it isn’t that hard, but there are some really dumb people that are trying to find information on the internet these days, and you made it really impossible. Thanks a lot Obama.

2. THE HOBBIT 3: THE THIRD ONE

You would be astonished to realize how many people have absolutely no clue that these movies are sequels to each other, or are part of a trilogy. What happened to the days of A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child. At least back then the number was obvious and it avoided people saying “So is this the 6th Lord of the Rings?”. Which has probably never been said.

3. THE HOBBIT: THE ORIGINAL TITLE DIDN’T SOUND VERY MENACING

Let’s face it, THERE AND BACK AGAIN sounds more like a romantic comedy starring Kristin Wiig than a final installment of film franchise.

4. THE HOBBIT: WE WILL NEVER GO BANKRUPT BECAUSE OF DOUBLE DIPPING

Between the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy and THE HOBBIT trilogy, New Line and MGM will stand to make about 384 billion dollars (rough estimate). I am especially excited for the 6 movie 38 disc version that features extended cuts and even outtakes of Peter Jackson falling asleep during the commentary.

5. THE HOBBIT: THE FINAL CHAPTER BEFORE WE MAKE UP SOME PLOTS NOT BASED ON ANY BOOKS

Guys, its inevitable. Just like HARRY POTTER, they will come up with something to keep the cash cow going.
