Techie_app Posted December 28, 2014 Author Report Posted December 28, 2014 It is OK to take loan from your Brother-in-law But you shoudl have explored all options in USA before asking your brother-in-law (like credit card, personal loans, loans from friends, loan aginst your car, gold or any thing you own or overdraft from bank ) The long term implications are: your sister will come to know it and may not feel good as it may effect her self esteem Generally people back home (your friends and relatives) may have some image about your status (generall feeling about NRI's) that you are doing off well in USA and they can count on you in times of crisis (financial) and knowing that you borrowed from your BIL,they may think that you have some issues in USA (may be you are drowned in debts, have addictions,or with out Job etc) which may impact your character /credibility ! [This is my prespective ,if I am in your position and may or may not be in your circumstance- I would rather sell my car or beg my friends in the worst case rather than even asking my millionaire brother ] Bayya, what ever you said is 100% true and I truly agree with you and this is the same way i think too thats the main reason for me not borrowing a single penny from my family or friends . But, due to some issues in my past 3 months because of the stocks I have ruined my life completely you can check my previous post ( http://www.andhrafriends.com/topic/567231-line-ga-vachi-andharu-thitti-vellandi/ ). Now, I have no other option and I have enough loans and scared about my life completely. That made me to ask my Brother-in law

If you have huge unsecured loans, this may be the best option..
