But even with all of this tech, remnants of an older world are all around us, a phenomenon that’s particularly felt in Tokyo. Photographer Matthew Pillsbury traveled to the capital of Japan to capture this fascinating arrangement, where ancient temples sit side-by-side with tech superstores and restaurants staffed by robots.
