ye maaya chesave Posted January 11, 2015 Report Posted January 11, 2015 Story: Gopala Rao (Venkatesh) is an atheist who owns a shop that sells Hindu idols in Koti area. His shop is rubbled due to an earthquake. When he claims the insurance, it’s rejected as earthquake is an ‘act of God’. Gopala Rao decides to sue god for the damage he has done. In the process, he involves Godmen and various trusts that make money using God’s image. It irks a popular baba (Mithun Chakraborthy). Gopala Rao gets physically intimidated once his petition is accepted by the court. Rest of the story is all about how Lord Krishna (Pawan Kalyan) saves and powers Gopala Rao towards victory Performances: Venkatesh was decent and he was at his usual best in some comedy scenes, if only the director added more depth/variation to his role,he would have got much better scope to perform. Pavan Kalyan was too good in Lord Krishna's role, he maintained the difference from his usual acts/mannerisms ,his performance and screen presence definitely add value to the movie. Shriya was okay , Mithun Chakravarthy was good as fake baba, posani was usual but any other actor who had serious image could have suited the role well. Vennela Kishore,Madhushalini and others all were apt. Technical Departments: Story-Screenplay-Direction: Gopala Gopala is a Remake of Bollywood move "Oh My God", (i didn't watched the original movie, that's why i am not comparing or discussing about original movie or it's characters). Screenplay is okay for the initial scenes, some comedy scenes and main character's establishment were fine, but the narration doesn't generate the needed effect even when one serious incident effects the main character's life. Pre Interval episode of Lord Krishna's arrival was good, though the chase sequence was a bit lengthy. Second half is much better , conversations between Lord and Main Character were well written and also pre climax episode came good. Climax was also fine. But main problem with the movie is,though the concept had so much to tell it doesn't get the desired effect because of important scenes were handled in ordinary/touch and go manner, there by audience wont feel for the main character the way they had to. Other Departments: Dialogues were good, Camera work was fine. Songs were fine but Background Score by Anoop Roobens could have been much better. Editing is okay. Special effects/CG work was not at all good and diluted the impact of the scenes. My Rating: 5.5/10 Analysis: Gopala Gopala - Though the movie had Good Concept and bankable Star Power, fails to create the magic because of lack of required depth in narration and remains an okay movie.
